New request to release imprisoned academics in Iran due to the new corona virus

In the light of the dire situation caused by the new corona virus, the Human Rights Committee respectfully request Iranian authorities to release Dr. Djalali, Ms. Mohammadi, Dr. Moore-Gilbert, and Dr. Adelkhah on humanitarian grounds without delay.

The World Health Organization and United Nations human rights experts have called on public authorities to take immediate steps to address prison overcrowding, including the priority release of prisoners who have been detained for offenses not recognized under international law.
