Getting here

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is located in the Frescati area in northern Stockholm, near the Swedish Museum of Natural History and Stockholm University.

The visiting address is Lilla Frescativägen 4A, 114 18 Stockholm.

How to get to the Academy

By public transport

  • Subway, red line 14 towards Mörby Centrum. Get off at station Universitetet.
  • Several bus routes, including bus 50 and 540, stop near the Academy. Get off at the Universitetet norra bus stop.
  • Roslagsbanan, lines 27 and 28 from Östra station. Get off at station Universitetet.

By foot or by bike

There are walking and cycling paths all the way from the centre of Stockholm and from several directions to the Academy. Bicycle parking is available to the right of the main entrance.

By Car

From central Stockholm, drive towards Roslagstull and north on Roslagsvägen. Turn right at Stockholm University and follow the signs saying Vetenskapsakademien.

From the north, and Arlanda airport, go south on the E4 and turn off towards Bergshamra on the E18, then follow signs towards Stockholm. On Roslagsvägen, turn off at sign saying Vetenskapsakademien.

Parking permits and fee

You need a parking permit and to pay a parking fee to park your car at the Academy secretariat (Lilla Frescativägen 4). The fee is SEK 10/hour or SEK 50/day and can be paid in the on-site parking meter or with the mobile phone app EasyPark.

Parking permits are available at the reception desk. The permit grants you permission to park on the indicated parking spaces, but does not guarantee you an available space. Please contact the person you are visiting at the Academy for assistance with parking permits during the times when the reception desk is closed.

Electric car charging

There are 10 charging points in the Academy’s visitor parking. The fee is paid with the EasyPark app.
