Press invitation to the Crafoord Days 2010: Meet the legendary Walter Munk

Welcome to meet “the father of oceanography”, Walter Munk, who comes to Sweden to receive the Crafoord Prize in Geosciences, “for his pioneering and fundamental contributions to our understanding of ocean circulation, tides and waves, and their role in the Earth’s dynamics”. The Crafoord Days 2010 begin in Stockholm and end in Lund.

Prize amount: SEK 4 million.

Prize award ceremony: To be held at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (RSAS) on 11 May 2010, in the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden.
